In Haiti there is no widespread access to clean water supply and trash collection.
THE SOLUTION: Repurposing.
When most Haitians want to drink clean water they must buy it in either plastic bottles or in little water pouches for about 4 US cents a bag. While this is an immediate solution to the lack of clean drinking water it leads to long-term environmental problems caused by the disposal of the plastic bags which are thrown in the streets, rivers and surrounding areas, which end up polluting the ocean, limiting the fishing industry, littering the beaches of the country and on other island nations, as well as, the coast of Florida.
